Original panorex x-ray machine needed to be replaced in an Orthodontic office. I finished off a basement room for a panorex x-ray machine to be installed. The typical backing requirements are 2X4 wall studs with (2) 2X12 wood backing. There was no need for lead lining on the walls. I suggested that 5/8" sheetrock is used on walls surrounding a Pano Xray. Also, the the wall backing needs to be atleast 24" from the wall that the door is on. The Pan needs 36" for rotation so 24" off of the wall gives plenty of room. We added hospital grade wiring for optimal images.
